I am 11 years old and I am an adult blackbelt.I have been doing karate for almost 4 years now. Karate has helped me a lot . My self confidence level has gone up since I've started karate. I have a lot of fun while I learn. I am lucky to have such great teachers who are there each day. I really mean it they are there at every class. Some of my friends have joined and I hope they can see how our Karate is the best around.

I have wached my son, Spencer grow from a Little Ninja to an orange belt in Youth 1. When I say I've seen him grow, I mean in so many ways. He has such passion for karate and it keeps himdriven to do his best! I am impressed with the instructors as well as Spencer. Thank you Shihan and the rest of the staff for your patience in dealing with what you deal with day to day. I hope to one day see Spencer join the ranks of blak belts!
I've seen my son grow from a little ninja to a youth 1 student in every sense of the word. His ability to handle himself both physically and mentally have come full circle largely in part to the karate training from OKI. He is eager to please Renshi and Cassidy and at the same time has found his niche. He's finding his strengths in his attention capacity as he mentally peforms all the katas performed by older student and applies them to everything he does. I can't wait to see him develop even more as the years pass. His confindence has improved tremendously and he never ceases to amaze me in what he can do every week!
Thank you, Renshi....you've been very patient!

I sat and watched as my daughter trained for over one year. As a middle aged adult I deemed myself unable to meet any standard necessary to excell in the arts. Yet, I sat and wondered.
My life history included so many athletic challenges in the past that I relished the challenge and sought an outlet for my energies and so chose to follow my daughter in her studies under Renshi Algier. I can only say that my life has become rich in so many new ways. My daughter
and I have almost surrounded our lives with our training. The impact of our mutual training at OKI have enriched us both physically, mentally and as a family. What can we each gain through training at OKI....for my daughter and I it has become a bond...a sense of growth .. and most
of all a family which pushes us to excell and achieve. Thank you Renshi, Mark, and Dave for challenging each of us in your own ways.

"This place is truly top notch. It is very practical, no moves are wasted. Renshi is extremely supportive and he is a great teacher. Part of the way I can tell this is when he sees that somebody really gets something, he just lights up and is eager to show something more that it can be applied to. I am always learning more about even my most basic kata, and its just so cool when I see that this move, is really that move, and this came from this. Like with the swim block, I learned that it actualy came from the double block in the Nahachin katas. There is always so much to learn, and to improve at it is a constant, enjoyable struggle."

I was a student of Renshi Paul Algier back in 1984-1987. In my travels since, I visited other dojo's and never found one that measured up to my original experiences with Renshi Paul. I found some schools to be more 'business' focused, and less 'student' focused. Others advertised themselves as traditional Karate schools but fell way short. It's hard to explain to someone whose experiences with Karate are limited, but when your used to a teacher who is dedicated, ultra-competent and passionate about Karate, like Renshi Paul, it's hard to settle for less. I'm happy to be back training as an adult. I'm enjoying myself immensely. The many lessons I gained as a young karate student are too numerous to mention. They've stayed with me through life.
